The fifth and sixth ways of forming Chinese characters are strictly speaking, not ways of creating new writing forms.


Rather they are ways of using existing characters.

Transferred characters share the same radical and have the same meaning but their pronunciations are different.

What happened is that a character was created to reflect a new pronunciation.
